Triple-digit heat, rain chance today
Southwest Florida will see no relief from the rain or heat this weekend.

There will be a 50 percent chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms today, the National Weather Service reports.
Temperatures are expected to reach as high as 91 but the heat index will make it feel more like 101 degrees. The relative humidity will be at 70 percent with winds out of the north between 6 and 9 mph. Temperatures should drop to 77 tonight under partly cloudy skies.
More rain is expected on Sunday, the weather service said.
There will be a 70 percent chance for rain in the morning with a temperature high of 91 degrees. The heat index will be as high as 102 with winds out of the east at 11 mph. The temperature low will be 75.
