LaRose played with the Hurricanes for most of this season. He will earn $450,000 in 2006-07, and $500,000 in 2007-08.
"Chad had a good rookie season for us and was a big part of our 'grind line,' along with Kevyn and Craig Adams," said Carolina president and general manager Jim Rutherford in a press release. "He is a player who has proven to be valuable at every level that he's played, whether it's as a scorer or a gritty player."
While a former Everblade re-signed with the parent club, another is heading to Europe.
Daniel Sisca, one of three ECHL All-Stars and a member of the league's All-Rookie team, is headed back to Italy. Sisca signed on Friday with the HCJ Milano Vipers.
Sisca played in 71 games for the Everblades, registering 79 points on 29 goals and 50 assists. He was seventh in the ECHL in scoring.
Sisca played in Italy in 2004-05, scoring 17 goals and adding 18 assists for Varese HC.
The Vipers have won five straight Serie A titles. Defenseman Corey Neilson signed with a team in England on Thursday. Defenseman Steve Czech and All-Star forward Ernie Hartlieb signed with the Blades last week.
LaRose, 23, made his NHL debut on Dec. 6, 2005, at Anaheim and played in 49 of Carolina's last 56 games, posting one goal and 12 assists (13 points) in his rookie season.
LaRose began the season with the Hurricanes' top American Hockey League affiliate the Lowell Lock Monsters, and had 14 goals and 11 assists (25 points) in 23 AHL games this season.
During the postseason, LaRose played in 21 of Carolina's 25 games posting one assist and 10 penalty minutes while averaging 8:57 of ice time per game.
Carolina signed LaRose in 2003 as an undrafted free agent following his junior hockey career where he scored 111 goals and had 90 assists (201 points) in 152 career games with Plymouth of the Ontario Hockey League.
In 2002-03, the Fraser, Mich., native ranked tied for second in the OHL with 61 regular-season goals prior to beginning his professional career. LaRose split the 2003-04 season between the Everblades and Lowell, and in 2004-05 he notched 20 goals and 22 assists (42 points) in 66 regular-season games with Lowell.
