It's the weekend and St. Patty's Day? Well, that means a parade — and maybe some green libations to lubricate a mood only bagpipes and marching bands can create.
The Naples St. Patrick's Day Parade starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann Catholic Church, 475 Ninth Ave. S.
It moves up Third Street South to Fifth Avenue South to Eighth Avenue South, ending at Crayton Cove. Call 436-0050.
Thomas Hoving, former director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, offers just the right advice for the next time you're cornered by that cocktail party art-know-it-all: He calls it "Become an Art Expert-Like-Me in One Hour Flat."
Hoving, who wrote the 2006 tribute to Andrew Wyeth's "Helga" series published by the Naples Museum of, begins speaking at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Naples Museum of Art, 5833 Pelican Bay Blvd., Naples. Tickets cost $22, $18 members or $7 students. Call 597-1900 or www.thephil.org.
