FAST FACTS: Leonard Llewellyn grew up in Montana and entered the Navy as a cadet pilot in 1956, serving in Vietnam and several other Asian countries. He joined the crew of Air Force One in 1963 and Flew President Kennedy until his death, then President Johnson for three years. He began moonlighting as a salesman for Deltona, eventually resigning his commission to move here in 1970. He founded Marco Beach Realty and guided it through the exciting years, later selling it and becoming a financial consultant. Leonard and his wife Anna retired to Montana a few years ago, but have since moved to Texas where they raise Quarter Horses.
Leonard contributed much to our community when he lived here: the original gazebo at the public beach, the land for the marina at the south end of the island, the beautiful bronze and glass doors at the Naples Philharmonic and much more. He and Anna are lifetime members of the Historical Society.
