MICA: Effortlessly perfect — a day in Paradise
Last week a Residents’ Beach member made a special visit to the MICA office just to let us know how much he and his family enjoyed their lunch at Paradise Grill. He raved about the choices offered and the quality of the sandwiches and meals. We’ll call our member “Tom.”
Tom and Susan’s daughter, Julie, had just flown in from Ohio, and she was anxious to get to Residents’ Beach, always one of the highlights of her visits to Marco Island. She quickly changed from heavy jeans to her bathing suit and off to Residents’ Beach they headed. As they walked along the pavers toward the sparkling sun and Gulf of Mexico, Julie suddenly remembered she had not eaten in quite a while. They walked a few steps in the direction of Paradise Grill and were presented with a full menu that would impress a patron of any restaurant. Coming from up north and the extreme cold, Julie was eager to embrace our warm climate and do as the locals do. She dove right in and ordered the fish sandwich special of the day. Tom had the sirloin burger and Susan enjoyed a crisp green salad with tuna. The very next day they had plans for a boat ride, but decided they could squeeze in a quick trip and another spectacular meal at Paradise Grill at Residents’ Beach. No, they did not even step foot in the sand that day, but they did enjoy a terrific lunch at the beach!
We were extremely glad to hear of Tom’s experiences at Residents’ Beach and their eagerness to return.
So many of our members are discovering the versatility of Residents’ Beach. Every once in a while on Marco it’s not a perfect “beach” day, but it’s not a bad day either (Is there ever really a bad day on Marco?)
Maybe it’s not the best day to sit along the Gulf of Mexico. Perhaps the wind is kicking up a bit. Don’t despair! Residents’ Beach awaits you! Walk along the water line and scour for those beautiful shells that Mother Nature has pushed your way. Treat yourself and maybe a friend to breakfast or lunch at Paradise Grill. Let your children or grandchildren burn some energy dodging around the playground or join a few friends in a game of volleyball.
Now consider what favorite past-time is enjoyed by many at Residents’ Beach that requires just about no effort at all. I guess there could be a couple of answers to this riddle. It could be sunbathing, but that does require a little energy to slather on the sun block and squint from the sun! The correct answer would be “watching a breathtaking sunset.” There’s not much more involved in this process than relaxing, breathing deeply and letting your troubles drift away.
There is something for everyone at the Marco Island Residents’ Beach. If you are a resident of Marco Island or rent for one month or longer, we invite you to join with your friends and neighbors and join in the fun at Residents’ Beach. Please call the MICA office for more information at 642-7778.
