Marco police briefs: April 7

Theft

A resident at 1094 Whiteheart Ave., reported that someone stole jewelry and several other miscellaneous items valued at $700 from her home between 12:40 p.m., and 11 a.m., March 28, a police report states.

Forging checks/theft

Anthony E. Hapstak, 27, of 960 Cape Marco #404, was arrested by detectives March 28 at 5 p.m., a police report states.

He is charged with Forging checks, theft and uttering forged checks, according to the report.

Detectives arrested Hapstak for the alleged theft of an employee’s payroll check taken from Guy Harvey’s Restaurant, and was later identified as the person cashing the $190 check at a local convenience store the report states.

Hapstak was also wanted out of New York on several active criminal warrants for forgery, theft and grand larceny, the police report states.

Theft from a vehicle

The owner of a car parked at 1000 N. Collier Blvd., the Reflections parking lot, reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole a bag containing several items of food, also damaging the seats of his vehicle.

The incident was reported March 28 at 12:27 p.m. The value of the stolen property and the damage to the vehicle was listed in the report at $560.

Theft of a bicycle

A resident at 752 Hull Court reported that his bike was stolen from outside of his residence between March 25 at 5 p.m., and March 31 at 2:35 a.m., a police report states. Value of the stolen property was listed as $900.

Theft from a construction site

Several parts from an air conditioning unit were reported stolen from a residential construction site at 244 Tahiti Road, a police report states.

The parts, valued at $854, were reportedly stolen April 1 sometime between 12 and 2 p.m.
