There were no movie stars or limousines on hand, but the Marco Community Bank did have a Hollywood flare to it during the Keller Williams 2007 Awards Celebration Friday. The Marco branch of the real estate company picked an Academy Awards theme for their awards luncheon.

Team leader and the award celebration’s Master of Ceremony Ken Gandy sported a tuxedo to the affair. The award’s soundtrack included Cool and the Gang’s “Celebrate Good Times” and Rocky theme music.

In addition to a colorful theme to the yearly awards programs, the Marco branch of Keller Williams also presented some unique awards. Gandy said while many real estate companies just have awards for top sales and tops listing, his event went a little further.

“It’s probably more important that we give awards to our agents for what we call cultural awards, spirit awards, hospitality awards,” said Gandy. “These are agents who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.”

Best Dressed Team Member was also an award.

Deanna Sydlosky won the award for top sales agent but was not present due to a sales call.

But the biggest award of all was the Most Valuable Player, said Gandy. That award went to Barbara Burback, the front desk receptionist.

“Our customers talk to her first,” said Gandy. “They will judge us based on how she treats [them].”

Burback received her MVP award at the end of the ceremony and received a standing ovation from her coworkers.
