The Collier County Bar Association Foundation (CCBA) was founded in 1991 with three major priorities:
Provide scholarships and zero-interest loans to qualified students.
Encourage awareness and participation in the law.
Promote and participate in charitable activities to benefit the underprivileged.
The CCBA provides public access to the Law Library located at the courthouse. People representing themselves in the legal system may find the Law Library resources helpful, because they can find information about:
Cases similar to theirs; laws and legislative materials; past jury instructions; verdicts and judgments; court rules and orders and administrative and executive material. The CCBA Foundation provides a lawyer referral services and legal forms. The lawyer referral service can help someone who needs an attorney to represent them. Clients pay $50 for an initial one-half hour meeting with an attorney. The CCBA staff, however, cannot give legal advice.
Each year CCBA sponsors a Mock Trial competition. This event gives high school students the chance to explore careers in the legal profession while having a chance to receive college scholarships.
The Bar Association also organizes charity events such as Holidays in March throughout the year.
The CCBA accepts volunteers, donations, or other contributions.
