The Annual Southwest Florida Sporting Clays Classic will move the competition to a larger facility at the Sarasota Trap, Skeet & Clays Club in Nokomis this year.

The competition is sponsored by Johnson Engineering and is scheduled for Friday, May 30th. The event is open to youth and adults. The entry fee includes: ammunition, 50 sporting clays, continental breakfast, bar-b-que lunch, and awards and the proceeds will go to the Boy Scouts of America, Southwest Florida Council.

The Sporting Clays Classic will accommodate additional competitors, more variety and it will be more exciting for our competitors says Brad Walden, Program Director for the Southwest Florida Council. “The Sarasota Club will make Wobble Trap, 5 Stand and Trap and Skeet available throughout the competition, so the competitors will not have to wait between rounds. The new sporting clays course is designed to simulate every conceivable situation, a bird, rabbit or duck hunter would encounter. It should be a challenging and exciting event.”

The tournament will benefit the Boy Scouts of America. For more information go to www.swflcouncilbsa.org, call 239-936-8072 and ask for Brad Walden, or send an e-mail to bwalden@bsamail.org.
