Former Lely linebacker Steve Octavien and former Estero wide receiver Micah Rucker signed free-agent deals with the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers, respectively, on Sunday night, according to multiple Internet reports.

Neither player was selected in this past weekend's NFL Draft. Former Estero and University of Miami offensive lineman Derrick Morse's name has not shown up on any list of signings of undrafted free agents.

The 6-foot, 240-pound Octavien, who played at Nebraska after a stint at an Illinois junior college, had a team-high 92 tackles, a team-high 15 of them for losses. He also led the team with nine quarterback hurries and was third in sacks with two.

The 6-6, 221-pound Rucker caught 55 passes for 777 yards and nine touchdowns at Eastern Illinois last year. He had 104 career receptions for 1,743 yards and 22 touchdowns in two years with the Panthers after transferring from Minnesota.
