The Gulf Coast Little League Tigers, made up of Marco Island players, had a great run in the Golden Gate Invitational over the weekend.
The team lost in the semifinals, 8-6, while winning three games.
“We were missing a couple of players in the semifinal game that hurt us,” coach Dave Flowers said. “I am extremely proud of how our kids have done this year and their impeccable sportsmanship.”
The Tigers are 8-2 in the Gulf Coast Minor A Division and 11-3 overall. With some games to go at Gulf Coast, Flowers is confident his team is ready to move up to the Major Division next season.
Flowers is assisted by coach Dave Vecchio. Players include Robert Aylwin, Avery Beauchamp, Logan Flowers, Zach Gober, Jacob Hartman, CJ Lambino, Derek Ollmer, Hunter O’Neill and Gage Wheeler.
