Lely High School graduate Steve Octavien and Estero's Derrick Morse both made their NFL preseason debuts on Thursday night.
Octavien, a linebacker who played for Nebraska, made one special teams tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs in their 24-20 win over the Chicago Bears. Octavien was not drafted, but signed a two-year deal shortly after the 2008 NFL Draft ended.
Morse, an offensive lineman who played for the University of Miami, saw time at left guard in the Browns' 24-20 loss to the Jets. Morse was playing when backup quarterback Brady Quinn was running the team. Morse was not signed by the Browns until June.
Arizona Cardinals veteran running back Edgerrin James of Immokalee carried two times for five yards in the Cardinals' 24-10 win over the Saints.
