Once a year a special holiday rolls around that has practically no real significance to you and your partner: it’s not your wedding anniversary, your first date anniversary or even your engagement anniversary! It’s not the day your first child was born, nor is it the season you bought your first house. It’s Valentine’s Day and you are obligated to conquer sense and reason and do something special. Everyone else is doing it and you should, too.
The greeting card companies pulled a fast one on you men and unless you want a few days of sulking and general discontent in your home, I would suggest you exert a minimum of effort. And by a minimum, I don’t mean buying your wife the same gas station greeting card two years in a row and expecting her to appreciate its you’re-a-pain-in-my-neck-but-I-love-you-anyway sentiment, which did in fact happen to one unfortunate couple I know.
Ladies are by no means excluded from participating, but here’s betting your husband won’t be crying in his beer because you forgot.
