Marco Island City Council will meet early Monday to allow time to deliberate over several large items. The session, which usually begins at 5:30, will start at 3:30 Monday and includes presentations to council on the Collier Boulevard refurbishment and the Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
The Collier Boulevard presentation will be delivered at the request of councilor Terri DiSciullo, who asked for a report on the project at the Feb. 4 meeting. Parks and Recreation Director Dana Souza will deliver the Parks and Recreation presentation.
Several residents will also receive commendations from the city for saving lives in two separate incidents. Josh Pinter will receive a commendation after the start of the meeting at 3:30, recognizing him for his efforts during a December kitchen fire when he helped evacuate an elderly man from his home and notified the fire department.
Melody and Wayne Kappauf will be recognized after 5:30 for their heroic quick thinking when in December they helped steer a charter bus full of passengers to safety after the driver suffered a fatal heart attack at the wheel.
Monday’s meeting will be the last session for outgoing councilors Terri DiSciullo, Mike Minozzi and Glenn Tucker before three new councilors are sworn in during the March 17 meeting.

I think they do the least harm when they don't meet at all !

Joey, why not have meetings at 10:00 am on Sunday morning? That would ensure adequate shade from public oversight. Think of all the personal agenda items that could be passed with little or no debate.

Hawke, just like your criminal buddy Kiester, who should be impeached, you are a true obstructionist, pain in the kiester!
