‘Golf Swings’ into Collier Museum

Get in the swing with “Golf Swings, at the Collier County Historical Museum.

The exhibit will be on display from Jan. 19 to April 19.

On loan from the Orange County Regional Center in Orlando, the exhibit is for budding amateurs to professionals. It explores the history and joys of golf.

It shows how the game of golf had its humble beginning in a cow pasture, to its phenomenal global support. It shows how the Professional Golf Association got its start in a New York restaurant and celebrates the greatest drives, putts and bogeys.

Favorite stars in early days of Ben Hogan to Tiger Woods brings a fascinating history of the game.

Admission is free. The museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday. The museum is located at the Collier County Government Center at U.S. 41 and Airport Polling Road. For more information call the museum, 775-4876.
