Howard new ED of PACE Center

PACE Center for Girls, Inc., a statewide prevention program for adolescent girls at risk of entering the juvenile justice system, announced the appointment of Vacharee Howard, MSW, as Executive Director of its center in Immokalee.

Howard will be responsible for the center’s administrative operations, organization/development, fundraising and fiscal management.

Howard brings extensive experience in public policy and social services to PACE, including child and family counseling, mental health and substance abuse treatment as well as a strong background in public policy and advocacy. Previously, Howard served as Executive Director for the Substance Abuse Directors Association of Alaska, where she managed a membership organization of substance abuse programs throughout Alaska.

Prior to that, Howard was a Public Policy Specialist-Criminal Justice for the Mental Health Association of Greater Dallas, where she developed programs to advocate for mental health issues. Over her 16-year career, she also worked as a Healthcare Practice Consultant for Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP; a Legislative Intern in the Texas State House of Representatives; Parent Educator/Intact Case Manager for the Children’s Home and Aid Society of Illinois; and as a Social Worker for the Fairbanks Native Association.

Howard holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, Alaska, and a Masters of Social Work from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri.
