Even with all the rain last Friday, the “Movie In The Park” event still went on, although not in the planned location.

Tony Sans, Marco Island recreation supervisor said that “the movie would definitely be shown.” City staff worked hard to change the location from the Mackle Park field to inside Mackle Park Community Center.

Their effort paid off as a smaller-than-normal crowd enjoyed the movie “Barnyard.” June 27 is the next date to catch a “Movie In The Park,” in that case “The Cat In The Hat” with an 8:45 p.m. movie start time.

Do not forget to join the Parks and Recreation team for an old fashioned “Ice Cream Social.” Create your ice cream masterpiece with chocolate and/or vanilla ice cream and top-off your creation with various sauces, sprinkles, whipped cream and more. The “Ice Cream Social” starts one hour before the movie. Cost for the “Ice Cream Social” is $1 per bowl.
