If a snap survey of local youngsters is on the mark, a lot of Marco Island mothers are in for some serious pampering come Sunday.
It’s Mother’s Day, of course, and local moms can expect cards, gifts and dinners by way of appreciation.
Middle school student Danny Quintana said his mom Frances is in for a surprise gift.
“You wouldn’t be able to live happily without parents, so it’s good to thank (moms) on Mother’s Day,” he said.
Alex Popoff, also a middle school student, will try out his culinary talents on his mom, Colleen.
“I’ll probably make her dinner,” Popoff said. “I think the significance of Mother’s Day is to show how much you love your mom, because they do most of the work around the house.”
Madison Park will also treat her mom to dinner.
“She knows, because I’ve already invited her,” Park said. “It’s fun having a mother-daughter day. She’ll also get a big hug in the morning, and after dinner.”
Also intent on easing kitchen duties for his mom, Dalton Herrity and his grandparents will treat her to dinner at Carraba’s restaurant in Naples.
“I’m also making something in class for my mom,” he said. “She does a lot of fun things with me.”
Dinner is also in the cards for Tara Snyder’s mom.
“My dad, grandma and grandpa are making a big dinner,” she said, “and she is getting something special from me, but it’s a secret. She’ll also get a special breakfast from me.”
