Each Saturday morning, at Winterberry Park, kids play T-Ball as part of the Marco Island Baseball League. Unlike teams in other divisions, they do not keep score, they are busy learning the game. That means they don’t have the opportunity to see their names, or even photos in the paper every week. This weekly feature gives a chance to give them some recognition. Full story »

In possibly the closest games of the season in the Minor Division of the Marco Island Baseball League, the Cubs remained undefeated, but didn’t win and the Dodgers won their first game of the year. Full story »

A soccer camp with a twist. Soccer will be played on sand and when the players get warm they will take a dip or mount kayaks and paddle boats to cool off in the Gulf. Full story »

A four-run second inning got the Indians rolling to a win. The Indians Paul Servante knocked in the first run in the opening inning then four more runs were scored by Stephen Neptune, Raul Rodriguez, Liam Hollowsky and Andrew Smith in the second. The Gulf Coast Little League Tigers, made up of Marco Island players, had a great run in the Golden Gate Invitational over the weekend. The team lost in the semifinals, 8-6, while winning three games. Full story »

Every Saturday morning, at Winterberry Park, kids come out and play T-Ball for the Marco Island Baseball league. There is no score kept in the T-Ball league. It is more for teaching the game. Full story »

The Cubs used the long ball to stay undefeated while handing the Marlins its first loss of the season in the Minor Division of the Marco Island Baseball League last week. Full story »

It was a good news week for the Marco Island Charter Middle School sports teams. The track team qualified members for the Collier County Middle School Track and Field Championships, while the boys baseball team edged closer to being the top seed in the upcoming Southwest Florida Middle School Baseball Conference playoffs. The Astros scored seven runs in the last inning, then held on to edge the Yankees, 12-11, in the Rookie Division of the Marco Island Baseball League.
